Charity Golf Challenge at Riverdale Dunes Golf Course

Cypress 16 was proud to sponsor its first annual charity golf tournament for the benefit of the Greenway Foundation in August 2018. The Greenway Foundation has been revitalizing the South Platte River through downtown Denver since 1974 and planning and implementing physical enhancements to the parks, trails and channel of Denver's urban waterways throughout the greater Denver area. In this first year, 72 players teed it up at Riverdale Dunes Golf Course and enjoyed a beautiful day of camaraderie and golf while benefitting a treasured resource of our community.

Our Partners

After working together at a private equity real estate firm for ten years, Gary and Leon partnered to form Cypress 16 in January 2018. Gary specializes in underwriting their projects, legal compliance, and sourcing capital and debt as well as consulting with businesses regarding operations and profitability. Leon leads the design team through entitlements, planning and documentation and oversees the development from construction to certificate of occupancy. While working at their previous employment, Gary and Leon were involved with the underwriting, development,acquisition, and management of properties valued at $1+ billion. In addition, their backgrounds include ownership and operation of successful entrepreneurial businesses.

Gary Roffe

Managing Partner

Gary is a Managing Partner and Founder of Cypress 16. Prior to 2018, he served as Managing Principal and Chief Operations Officer for Miller Global Properties, a private equity real estate firm. Prior to joining Miller Global, he practiced law in corporate finance area for the national law firm of Kutak Rock. In addition, for 15 years, Gary owned and operated Stephany's Chocolates, a manufacturer, retailer and wholesaler of premium boxed chocolates.

Leon Hurley

Managing Partner

Leon is a Managing Partner and Founder of Cypress 16. He specializes in real estate development, including all phases of planning, design, and construction. Prior to 2018, Leon was a Senior Vice President of Development at Miller Global Properties where he had oversight for all aspects of design and construction for development projects consisting of hotels and office buildings throughout the United States. Prior to Miller Global, Leon was principal and founder of an architectureal firm focusing on multi-family, residential, mixed-use, retail and hospitality projects.
